Objectives: Students interested in natural sciences and technology have the opportunity to choose the Master’s course of study in Mechatronics and Information Technology. The research-oriented focus of this course of study aims to explore the theoretical contexts of the complex Mechatronics and Information Technology specialty division as a whole. A specialization in technical knowledge, scientific methods and application scenarios allows students to work in fields with a stronger scientific focus, as well as further developing and designing their own areas of activity on an independent basis.
In particular, the course of study teaches an understanding of cross-references and encourages critical reflection on the issues and methodologies of the specialty divisions; it also focuses on a responsible, integrated abstraction of the application area for Mechatronics and Information Technology. An important goal in teaching these skills is to increase students’ readiness for socially responsible engineering work.
The course of study is designed and offered jointly with the Faculty for Electrical Engineering and Information Technology and the Faculty for Computer Science, and represents an ideal combination of application-oriented mechanical engineering and modern information technology.
