Objectives: Geographic Information (GI) plays an increasingly important role in many areas of our lives: environmental protection, business and marketing, communications, forecasting, modelling, agriculture, and local and regional planning.
Understanding GI systems (the software tools) and GI science (the technical discipline) is essential for effective management and analysis of spatial data.
Resources available to you include an optically stimulated luminescence (OSL) lab, an atomic absorption spectrophotometer, a scanning electron microscope, a cold store, a Coulter laser diffraction particle size analyser, differential GPS, and a 3D laser scanner - along with a wide range of electronic and traditional field equipment.

Degree Level (EU) : 7 - (EQC level or equivalent)
Prerequisites: IELTS 6.5 or equivalent, with at least 6.0 in each component score. If your first language is not English, you may need to provide evidence of your English language ability. If you do not yet meet our requirements, our English Language Teaching Unit (ELTU) offers a range of courses to help you to improve your English to the necessary standard.
