Master of science in electromechanical engineering – Option Aeronautics

Course Details

Objectives: Electromechanical civil engineers are perhaps the most multi-skilled of all engineers since courses in electromechanics cover a huge range of technical skills in energy, electronics, motors, mechatronics and even industrial process management. This course also addresses a broad range of industrial management issues through the classes taught and also through a 3-month placement in industry, a technical consultancy or a research centre. This means that electromechanical engineers are capable of dealing with the diverse facets of the complex systems which they encounter and are trained to manage industrial projects.

Intended for: Students

Prerequisites: A bachelor in civil engineer

Admission requirements: Holders of a university degree
Unconditional access to holders of a Bachelor degree in engineering, specialised in civil engineering;
unconditional access to holders of a certificate attesting the successful completion of a preparatory year for the MA in civil engineering (option: electromechanical engineering), awarded by the ULB.
unconditional access to holders of a degree in the subject of this MA, but with a different specialisation;
access to holders of a Master degree in bioengineering, who may be admitted once their application for admission has been assessed (they will follow a slightly adjusted programme worth a maximum of 135 ECTS);
access to holders of a Master degree in chemistry, physics, maths or computer science, who may be admitted once their application for admission has been assessed (they will follow a slightly adjusted programme worth a maximum of 135 ECTS);
access to holders of a degree similar to those listed above, awarded by the Flemish Community, the German-speaking Community, or by a Royal Military School, under the same conditions;
access to holders of a recognised foreign degree similar to the degrees awarded by the French Community listed above, and judged by the panel to be worth at least 180 ECTS, subject to acceptance of the application for admission.
Holders of a non-university higher education degree
unconditional access to holders of a certificate attesting the successful completion of a preparatory year for the MA in civil engineering (option: electromechanical engineering), awarded by the ULB.
access to holders of a Master degree in industrial science or production engineering, possibly subject to taking an additional programme worth a maximum of 15 ECTS;
access to holders of a degree similar to those listed above, awarded by the Flemish Community, the German-speaking Community, or by a Royal Military School, and to holders of foreign degrees recognised as being similar by the Panel, under the same conditions.
Recognition of work experience
Access to any person who, at the end of a procedure assessing his knowledge and skills gained through personal and/or professional work and corresponding to at least 5 years of work (not taking into account failed higher education study years), accepts having to obtain 15 additional ECTS (max) to gain access to the programme.
Criteria taken into account when applying for access
For the application to be accepted, the candidate will need to prove that his command of English is at least equivalent to level B2.
