Course Details

Objectives: The Master's degree in Fundamental Physics and Applications from Sorbonne University offers training in the field of physics, including all its diversity, and by preparing students for employment either in a research laboratory (to prepare a thesis, option research), either in the industrial world (professional path), or in teaching professions.

The first year of the master's degree in Fundamental Physics and Applications at Sorbonne University, with a generalist vocation, provides solid conceptual training (quantum physics, statistical physics) in S1, supplemented by in-depth experimental and numerical training during S2, through adapted thematic courses to the targeted M2.

Experimental skill is an important skill in this M1, and can only be acquired through quality experimental teaching. The experimental teaching of our training is therefore an important objective, which is based on the experimental platform of the master's degree and the numerous laboratories of Sorbonne University.

From a more transversal point of view, our training aims to give students a diversified scientific culture, based on scientific curiosity and the desire to learn and understand, with the aim of being able to nourish a coherent training project. Students also benefit from teaching dedicated to professional integration, focused on the professions of physicists.
