Course Details

Objectives: The specialty "Mechanics and Energetics" provides engineering students with solid foundations in solid and structural mechanics, materials and fluid mechanics and energy. The knowledge and experience acquired allow engineers from this specialty to be perfectly suited to the needs of companies in the transport, energy and related services fields.

Intended for: students

Degree Level (EU) : 7 - (EQC level or equivalent)

Admission requirements: 1st year: Scientific baccalaureate S specialties: Maths + Physical sciences or Maths + Engineering sciences or Maths + Numerical and computer sciences or Maths + SVT
2nd year: L1 scientist, 1st engineering school post-bac, 1st year CPGE
3rd year: DUT, 2nd year CPGE, L2, L3, ATS
4th year: M1, course compatible with the specialty

Acquired skills during the training : • Analyze an industrial problem, design the content of a study and plan tasks, organize and carry out team work by reconciling quality, costs and deadlines.
• Carry out and analyze a numerical simulation in mechanics of solids, fluids or energy or even multiphysics coupled.
• Design and use an experimental device and instrumentation, carry out tests and analyze the results.
• Develop tools for monitoring and operating mechanical or fluid-energy systems, production chains.
• Optimize the dimensioning of complex mechanical and energy structures or systems.
• Adapt materials to good uses and study their behavior, their shaping by new processes such as additive manufacturing, their lifespan and control their state in service.
• Present a project to an audience to demonstrate the technical and commercial performance of a product, system or process.
• Manage projects, manage a team and lead an organization.

Targeted careers : 3 business lines are offered: Integrated Design in Mechanics, Control and Optimization of Materials for Structures, Fluid Mechanics and Energetics.

Duration and terms: 5 years, 4 years, 3 years or 2 years depending on the entry cycle
