Course Details

Objectives: This Superior Aeronautical Medicine Certificate (BSMA) is a deepening of the Aeronautical Defense Medicine Certificate (BMAD) for 9 weeks (such as the human factor and the methods of investigation in the event of an air crash) as well as piloting (10 hours of flight instruction). A 2-week practical internship at the CPEMPN dedicated to clinical expertise (and corresponding to the Class 1 practical internship) is included in the program.

Updating knowledge is required to maintain these two certificates, from SOFRAMAS training and those oriented towards the military environment, as well as a one-week practical course every 3 years at the CPEMPN or at the CEMPN of Toulon for the BSMA patents.

Some pre-selected BSMA doctors can also pass the European Certificate in Aeronautical Medicine, an international course lasting 6 weeks (each week taking place in a different country) allowing them to obtain a multinational culture in aeronautics which opens up applications for some aeronautical jobs abroad.

Duration and terms: 9 weeks
