Course Details

Objectives: This second module of the "Aeronautical Meteorology" training is intended for forecasters in charge of aeronautical production.

At the end of the training, trainees will be able to:
• Apply international and national aeronautical regulations in their productions for the aeronautical user;
• Provide meteorological assistance adapted to the various users of the aeronautical world, according to international and national regulations.

This training complies with the competency standards of document OMM49 volume I and the competency implementation guide applicable to aeronautical meteorological forecasters.

Intended for: Météorologues ou météorologues des services météorologiques nationaux chargés d'activités de prévision ou réalisant des activités de prévision météorologique et d'assistance aux activités aéronautiques.

Prerequisites: • Good knowledge of general meteorology (in particular: aerology, major air currents, air masses and their evolution, frontology, local meteorology) and the principles of numerical models. Having followed the “concepts and methods” course is desirable
• Have completed Module 1: AERONAUTICAL METEOROLOGY – TRAINING COMPLIANT WITH OMM49 CONTENT
