Course Details

Objectives: The mechanical specialty industrial structures (MSI) forms, by apprenticeship, field engineers in the mechanical, boilermaking, welding and metallurgy sectors.
In partnership with the SNCT, the National Syndicat de la Chaudronnerie, Piping & Industrial Maintenance, it is provided in Nîmes, in the premises of the IUT of Nîmes (UM technological platform).

This type of engineering training is unique in France. The training benefits from the strong support of the Occitanie region, through the regional higher education apprenticeship training center (CFA ENSUP LR).

Degree Level (EU) : 7 - (EQC level or equivalent)

Acquired skills during the training : Upon leaving school, the MSI engineering student:
Has acquired the scientific and technical bases in the field of mechanics applied to mechanically welded structures;
Has knowledge in the fields of boilermaking, metallurgy, welding and related techniques;
Is capable of designing, manufacturing and maintaining industrial installations.


He is able to:
- Carry out the management and follow-up of a case;
- Organize, optimize and manage production and industrial flows;
- Guarantee the safety of people and resources, respect for the environment and regulations and product quality;
- Innovate and industrialize through the design and development of products and processes;
- Organize and supervise maintenance activities and interventions.
