Course Details

Objectives: Graduates of the IMECA course will have received and assimilated theoretical and practical teaching on materials with a Physics of Materials emphasis. The IMECA journey:

- allows you to acquire skills in the fields of polymers, composites, nanomaterials, bio-sourced materials, metals and ceramics, from synthesis to implementation, taking into account the life cycle (eco-design , recycling) as well as the environmental impact (eco-responsible processes).
- allows mastery of the essential concepts and characterization techniques of Materials Engineering and has the mission of training generalist executives in this sector of industrial activity.
- allows you to acquire skills in computer-aided part design and rapid prototyping using 3D printing.

This course is rather intended for students from fields where physics, physico-chemistry, mechanics, construction and materials in the broad sense are predominant.

Degree Level (EU) : 7 - (EQC level or equivalent)

Acquired skills during the training : - participate in the development and implementation of various materials (e.g. polymers, composites, elastomers, nanocomposites, etc.) for the development of products or prototypes via 3D printing.
- analyze the techniques or processes for transforming materials in order to optimize the production tool and reduce the environmental impact.
- carry out qualification and quality control tests to participate in the overall effort to improve the quality of production.
- write reports, projects, technical reports.
- carry out expert assessment missions on existing products in order to identify, for example, the origin of the degradation of parts in industrial operating conditions as well as the life cycle of the products.

Targeted careers : At the end of the Master's degree, graduates will have executive status in production, R&D, quality, design office, valorization of bio-resources, recycling... in different sectors such as aeronautics, automobiles, nautical, packaging, standardization, etc.
