Course Details

Objectives: The first semester of the Mechanical Engineering master's degree is common to all courses. On the one hand, it constitutes a base of skills in the different professions of production, design and calculation of structures and on the other hand it helps with orientation in the different courses offered. This constitutes true multidisciplinarity within the mechanical engineering professions and can facilitate subsequent retraining.

The Calculation courses have specific Teaching Units from the first year of the master's degree.

Knowledge:
Dynamics of structures.
Fatigue-breakdown.
Thin structures.
Finite Element Methods (FEM).
Concurrent engineering.
Digital tools.
Topology optimization.
Airplane structures.
Thermal and thermoelasticity
Composites.
Impact.
Nonlinear finite elements.

Degree Level (EU) : 7 - (EQC level or equivalent)

Acquired skills during the training : • Certify mechanical parts using structural calculation software (PATRAN, NASTRAN, RADIOSS, etc.).
• Determine, identify, model the various physical properties and mechanical behaviors of solid materials.
• Develop and use different digital and computer tools to size mechanical parts.
• Know and master theoretical and technical aspects of the finite element method to analyze, understand and exploit a numerical result.

Targeted careers : The training is clearly oriented towards the aeronautics and space sector but also makes it possible to respond to other industrial sectors (transport, naval, automobile, etc.).

The prospects for professional integration are excellent, particularly in calculation design offices. Integration surveys show full employment in less than 3 months.

Professions:
Structural Engineer.
Structural calculation engineer.
