Course Details

Objectives: The BUT SD (formerly STID) develops essential skills for computer management of data, their statistical processing and business intelligence. Data held by companies such as those engaged in social networks are today the basis of decision-making but are also exposed to new forms of digital crime.

The Aurillac SD department is the only one in France to offer Cybersecurity coloring. It constitutes up to 30% of the lessons. It is approached from the angle of data protection, and the legal issues of their processing.

Two courses are available from the second year:
The Exploration and Modeling course reinforces the statistical aspect of the diploma, mainly in the context of data processing and modeling.
The Visualization, Design of decision-making tools course, for its part, reinforces the IT aspect of the diploma, in particular by focusing on the various stages of the decision-making chain.

Degree Level (EU) : 6 - (EQC level or equivalent)

Targeted careers : Data manager, marketing research manager, geomarketer, biostatistician, decision-making developer, geographic information systems manager, sensory analyst, quality statistician, IT cybersecurity manager, GDPR referent, etc. Civil service competition: police, gendarmerie: specialists in cybercrime, etc.
