Course Details

Objectives: INSA Toulouse and INP-ENSEEIHT are joining forces to deliver a double engineering degree, certified by the Commission for Engineering Titles (CTI), on the theme of Artificial Intelligence.

ModIA training mainly targets the theme of Hybrid Artificial Intelligence, which combines automatic learning techniques from data and mathematical modeling, whether random or deterministic.

The objective of apprenticeship training is to enable apprentices to acquire the essential concepts so that they can practice understanding the issues surrounding real data and creativity. The training therefore includes a solid mathematical and computer science component whose central subjects are statistics, optimization, machine learning, deep learning, signal processing, and scientific computing, which are at the heart of digital AI modern - as opposed to historical AI, called symbolic, based more on mathematical logic.

In addition to teaching the fundamentals of AI, this training has two notable originalities. Many applications of AI are expected in transport, predictive maintenance, the use of physical fields, for example meteorological, vehicle tracking, and therefore concern phenomena governed by mathematical equations. It is therefore important that this training is enriched by lessons on forecasting techniques in systems governed by equations, such as data assimilation. On the other hand, the industrial use of AI, particularly when it leads to decision-making in critical systems, requires making AI software explainable. This involves mathematically proving and certifying that software implements a given mathematical algorithm without errors. To this end, the training includes a teaching unit around so-called trust systems.

Notes: This training will ultimately deliver an INSA diploma specializing in Applied Mathematics and an INP-ENSEEIHT diploma specializing in Computer Science and Telecommunications.
