Course Details

Objectives: Upon completion of the training, participants will be able to:
- Explain the various parameters of digital video formats and compression systems common to different standards such as H26X, MPEGX, VP9, ??AV1, AVS, AVC/H264, HEVC/H265, EVC, and VCC/H266
- Select coding profiles based on application requirements
- Explain the systems used in various fields such as Blu-ray, satellite, terrestrial, internet, and mobile broadcasting

Intended for: Anyone wishing to implement or develop digital video coding.

Prerequisites: Basic knowledge of signal processing is necessary to get the most out of the training (sampling concepts, Fourier transform, signal digitization). For practical exercises, a basic understanding of MATLAB is recommended.
