Master 2 Mécanique, Parcours’Aéronautique et Transport (AT)

Course Details

Objectives: The Aeronautics and Transport course aims to provide a solid foundation to students wishing to work in the aeronautics or land and maritime transport sectors. The training is based on lessons in basic disciplines (fluid and solid mechanics, aerodynamics, aero-vibro-acoustics, aeroelasticity, flight mechanics, numerical fluid mechanics) supplemented by advanced courses integrating the most recent results in the field. field of research in these sectors: turbulence, flow control, turbulent combustion, numerical methods.

This course offers a very broad spectrum of career opportunities, ranging from the profession of R&D engineer in design offices (large groups, mid-sized companies and SMEs in the sector) to academic research in public organizations. It allows the choice of direct integration into the job market or continuation of training through a doctoral thesis (public funding, CIFRE contract, etc.)

Intended for: Students, engineers

Degree Level (EU) : 7 - (EQC level or equivalent)

Prerequisites: Scientific education about mechanics, physics or applied mathematics

Admission requirements: French Licence in order to integrate the 1st study year.
Master 1, "Maitrise" or engineer education to integrate the 2nd year.

Acquired skills during the training :
Analyze, understand and model a mechanical system, and predict its evolution by implementing multidisciplinary knowledge and fundamental methods in fluid mechanics and solid mechanics, applied mathematics, numerical calculation and physics.
Develop the strategy for studying a mechanical system in its environment, extract its relevant spatio-temporal characteristics, develop a theoretical, numerical or experimental study strategy, then interpret and exploit the results.
Communicate easily in French in writing and orally by adapting to the audience, through structured, relevant and critical argumentation.
Carry out engineering projects in the different fields of mechanics, independently or within teams that they will have to integrate, support or manage.
Respond to the needs and solve technical problems in the professional world, by applying and adapting fundamental disciplinary knowledge.
Develop a project facilitating integration within a professional organization and an ethic promoting accountability.

Duration and terms: 4 six-months periods, including one of them in a firm as practical training.

Partnerships with national organisations: Eurocopter, EADS, SNECMA,..

International partnerships: ALSTOM Power, ESA,...
